DTF Artwork Requirements

To ensure the best possible print quality on your DTF transfers, please review the following artwork guidelines before placing your order. Following these requirements will help us deliver crisp, vibrant, print-ready transfers every time.

We do not edit, recolor, resize, or modify your artwork before printing. Your file will be printed exactly as submitted. Please review your artwork carefully before placing your order. We are not responsible for errors in files that were approved at checkout.

Recommended File Types

  • PNG (preferred) — Supports transparent backgrounds, ideal for DTF printing
  • PDF — Great for vector-based artwork
  • SVG — Scalable vector format, no quality loss at any size
  • AI (Adobe Illustrator) — Accepted for vector artwork
  • EPS — Accepted for vector artwork
  • PSD (Photoshop) — Accepted; please flatten layers or include all linked files

Resolution & DPI

  • Minimum: 300 DPI at the intended print size
  • Higher DPI is always better — 300 DPI is the minimum for acceptable print quality
  • Low-resolution files (under 150 DPI) will be rejected or may result in blurry prints
  • Enlarging a low-resolution file does not improve quality — always start with a high-res original

Background

  • Transparent background strongly preferred — This ensures clean edges on your transfer
  • White backgrounds will print as white ink on the transfer film
  • If your design has a white background you want removed, please note this in your order comments

Color Mode

  • RGB color mode preferred for DTF printing
  • CMYK files are accepted but may have slight color shifts when converted
  • Colors on screen may vary slightly from printed output due to monitor calibration

Minimum Line Thickness

  • Lines should be a minimum of 1pt / 0.35mm at print size
  • Very thin lines (hairlines) may not reproduce cleanly — thicken them when possible

Minimum Text Size

  • Minimum recommended text size: 8pt at print size
  • Very small text may lose legibility — consider simplifying or enlarging small text elements
  • Outline all fonts in vector files to avoid font substitution issues

Copyright & Trademark Policy

  • We do not print copyrighted artwork, trademarked logos, or licensed characters without written proof of authorization
  • By submitting artwork, you confirm you own the rights or have permission to reproduce it
  • Orders containing unauthorized artwork will be cancelled and refunded

Tips for Best Results

  • Use vector artwork whenever possible for sharp, scalable designs
  • Avoid gradients that fade to transparent unless your file format supports it (PNG does)
  • Keep important design elements at least 0.25" from the edge of your intended print area
  • When in doubt, send us your file and we'll let you know if any adjustments are needed
